Three National Parks Near Los Angeles and your California RV Rentals Headquarters

Posted on May 31, 2018

Summer is practically here, and that means it is time to hit the road in your California motorhome rentals and start exploring all of the natural beauty and wonder of The Golden State.  Whether you have an entire summer vacation or just a short weekend, 1st Choice RV has you covered for all of your RV rentals in California with some of the best RV rental prices California has to offer.  While we realize everyone would love to take an endless road trip in their California RV rentals, we also understand that that unfortunately isn’t a reality for most.  Thankfully, Los Angeles has plenty of world-class destinations on its doorstep – perfect for a weekend getaway. If you are hoping to explore some of the state’s national parks but only have a short weekend to do so, bump these three to the top of your California motorhome rentals road trip to-do list.

Joshua Tree National Park

An easy 2.5-hour drive from Los Angeles lays one of the most captivating desert landscapes in the continental United States.  Joshua Tree National Park is defined by stark changes in elevation that result in an undulating landscape with varying mountains, rock formations, and plant and wildlife.  Given its proximity to Los Angeles, it makes for the perfect weekend getaway in your RV rentals in California. For those fueled by adrenalin in your group, consider rock climbing.  Each year thousands of climbers descent on “J-Tree” to explore some of the world’s finest climbing.

Channel Islands National Park

This one may be a bit deceptive.  The access to Channel Islands National Park is only a two-hour drive from your California motorhome rentals headquarters, yet following your arrival on the coast you can look forward to a 1 – 4 hour boat ride.  Don’t let that deter you. The Channel Islands are home to over 2,000 different species of flora and fauna, and nearly 150 of them can only be found on these islands. For those drawn to the water, this is a must visit on your California RV rentals road trip.

Kings Canyon/Sequoia National Parks

This is a two for one!  Sequoia National Park is a beautiful and easy 3.75 hour drive from Los Angeles and 30 minutes up the road, sharing a border, is Kings Canyon National Park.  Sequoia is known for its giant trees, a beautiful stretch of the Sierra Nevada Mountains and nearly 250 different caves. Kings Canyon also boasts several groves of sequoia trees, including the world’s second largest, Kings Canyon itself, and an absolutely breathtaking mountainous backdrop.  These parks will leave even the most critical nature lover totally inspired.
